These statistics include completed driving and theory tests. The data are updated monthly. The information is produced by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.
Driving tests
The objective of the driving test is to ensure that the driving examination candidate knows how to be a responsible driver and take into account safety and the social and ecological aspects of driving. The driving examination candidate must be able to identify risk factors and assess risks, their own actions and their impact on road safety.
Theory tests
The objective of the theory test is to ensure that the driving examination candidate has enough knowledge and skill to be a responsible driver. The test is carried out on a tablet at a driving examination service location. A successful theory test result (pass) remains valid for one year. A candidate can take the theory test one month before the set age requirement is met if the driving examination includes a driving test or the candidate does not have an age exception permit to take the theory test.

Statistics are compiled of driving and theory tests by examination location and driving school and operator. The statistics detail under which driving school or operator the candidates received instruction. If an operator has used more than one examination location, the operator’s driving and theory tests will appear accordingly under several examination locations. Driving-school-specific test data does not indicate the number of driving school students because driving schools have other types of clients as well.
