Postal deliveries
These statistics include data that Posti Ltd has supplied to Traficom on postal deliveries and services. These statistics are compiled once a year. The statistics are produced by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.
Definitions
Deviations from the frequency of collection and delivery. The universal service provider (Posti) has the right to deviate from the prescribed collection and delivery frequency in the case of households located in remote archipelago areas. The total number of households covered by this exception may not exceed 500 nationwide. Posti submits annual data on the number of these households to Traficom.
The graph Delivery service due to personal special needs illustrates the number of households with special delivery arrangements due to personal special needs (e.g. persons over 75 years old and persons with reduced mobility). In deviation from the usual delivery method, post may be delivered to an apartment-specific slot, a letter box located near the front door, or a letter box located at the driveway or walkway of the plot. Each year, Posti provides Traficom with data on households with special delivery arrangements due to personal special needs.
The graph Postal service points indicates the number of Posti's own service points, postal agency shops, pick-up outlets, parcel lockers and pop-up pick-up points. Under the Postal Act, there must be a postal service point in each municipality. Parcel lockers include both private and public lockers (Smartpost).
