Key trends in the development of regional and community structure

This situational picture provides information on identified trends in the development of Finland’s regional and community structure from the perspective of the transport system. The transport system is part of the built environment, and as such its development is affected by the same social phenomena and trends as the development of Finland’s regional and community structure. The central knowledge base of the situational picture consists of assessments of the development of Finland’s regional and community structure carried out by the Ministry of the Environment’s branch of administration. The situational picture is updated annually. The information is produced by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.
