Statistics on the oversight of air operations

The statistics on the oversight of air operations provide information on operatos, ramp and landing site inspections, dangerous goods transport controls, line checks and inspections of cabin operations. The data are updated once a year. The information is produced by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.

Traficom supervises air operation organisations’ compliance with the requirements. Air operations are also supervised by means of different licensing processes and by assessing the financial capability of operating licence applicants and holders. Traficom’s field checks include inspections of air operations, line checks, and RAMP inspections of operators (SAFA/SANA).

DESCRIPTIONTraficom monitors that flight operations organisations observe the set requirements. For example, Traficom inspects and approves airlines’ Flight Operations Manuals and carries out audits and line checks to ensure the conformity of airline operations. In addition, Traficom conducts RAMP inspections (SAFA/SANA) at Finnish airports. Flight operations are also monitored through various authorisation procedures, for example. Licences related to flight operations include air operator certificates, licences for specialised air operations, and air show and air race licences. Flight operations are also monitored by assessing the financial conditions of operating licence applicants and holders.
