Retail prices of mobile broadband subscriptions

These statistics detail the consumer prices of mobile broadband subscriptions offered by telecommunications operators in Finland. The data is collected from the public websites of telecommunications operators three times a year. The statistics are produced by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.

Definitions

The price of a mobile broadband subscription represents a telecommunications operator’s lowest price for a 12-month broadband subscription. The price does not include any activation fees.

Download speed means the rate at which data is transferred from the internet to the user’s device.

In these statistics, subscriptions are divided into speed categories based on the maximum download speed, i.e. the maximum download data transfer rate advertised.

Based on the prices of different telecommunications operators, a median price (middle price) has been calculated for each speed category.

The price information has been collected from the three largest mobile operators: DNA, Elisa and Telia. The prices also include the prices of Moi Mobile Ltd. The data is collected from telecommunications operators’ public websites.
