Annual statistics on the taxi service market
The statistic illustrates information on the business operations of taxi companies and taxi dispatch services (later referred to as dispatch centres). The data is collected from the annual follow-up surveys on taxi companies and dispatch centres. The statistic is updated every year. The information is produced by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom.
Note: Traficom is renewing its publications on taximarket monitoring. Therefore, not all regular statistical updates have been made in 2025.

In the statistic, the division of the data into different regions is based on the operating areas of the taxi companies and taxi dispatch service providers.
In the statistic, order method refers to the channel through which the taxi company has received the order. An order can be
- ordered via a dispatch service. Includes journeys ordered and dispatched via a dispatch center or an application. The application can be, for example, a web browser, a mobile app, or similar.
- ordered directly. Includes taxi journeys taken from a taxi stand, hailed on the street, or ordered by phone.
- contract journey. Contract journeys are journeys whose rates have been agreed in advance with a social/private operator.
